Volunteering in the library is one of the most fun and rewarding ways to give back to Caraway and its students.
You will get the opportunity to meet and interact with so many wonderful students – all eager to come to the library! We have been able to keep our library assistant in the library for most of the day so we are pleased to be able to see whole classes of K-2 at least every other week and K every week! Not to mention the fact that kids who can use the library independently can come check out as needed any time. Don't forget 3-5 classes that can be scheduled any time! Now take the number of students at Caraway (over 800) and multiply that by 2-3 books per week and you will see why we will need your help more than ever! Examples of volunteer duties in the library (you can choose what is right for you!): -Helping students check out books -Helping students find materials -Reshelving books -Helping maintain shelves -Helping with displays or bulletin boards -And much, much more! We are happy to have volunteers: -On a weekly basis (yay!) -Drop-in (after drop-off or before pick-up is great) -Special events (like Book Fair) If you can stay through more than one shift and make a morning or afternoon of it – awesome! If you feel like you may only be able to come in more sporadically, please do! If you can only do a partial shift – just call and let us know. We can certainly use everyone we can get. Volunteers will be needed and welcomed as soon as possible! Please make sure you have completed the necessary volunteer registration at https://roundrockisd.org/volunteer/. You can also e-mail Mrs. Letendre at [email protected], come by, or call the library at 512-464-5508 to schedule your time. We look forward to getting to know you and appreciate all that you do for your student’s education! |
